Also check with your Citys Building Inspectors. I know that in the ICC 2003 Residential Code it indicates that an address needs to be posted that is plainly visible and legible from the street. These guys might have some kind of letter already in place or they might be able to assist you in correcting the problem. Good luck.

Here are a couple sites I found regarding this issue, a letter could easily be drafted using this information:
http://www.wallacetwp.org/Fire.aspx (scroll about halfway down)
http://sccounty01.co.santa-cruz.ca.u...nt%20Letter%22 (something like the above amendment might be something your town/city should consider if they don't already have it)
http://www.lehicity.com/fire/index.php (near the bottom, addressed under "Location")
That's a pretty good start. Also, if your area already has some type of ordinance in place which requires owners to have a marked address, I would bring that to their attention as well. Many people are not aware of the fact that they could possibly be violating a town/city ordinance, as well as delaying emergency responders.

My bad!!!! If I come across such a letter, I will let you know. It looks as if this is a problem nation wide. Good luck and take care.

We do address the problem at the end of the call but would like to send a reminder a few days later. When the person is not dealing with the stress from the call.

I have also run several calls where the address was wrong. Does anyone have a letter asking the resident to correct this problem?
