Hi, I recently got on the final eligibility list for a major Texas Dept, and have an excellent chance of starting in the spring. I'm very excited and want to be certain I'm physically prepared for the challenges of the Fire Academy. I passed the CPAT in 8:11, but I've read that it is watered down and not a very good representation of the work required in the academy. Can anyone here provide some insight into what I can expect during the academy, and what goals I might want to set before getting in, such as running, lifting, etc? Thanks all for the great posts here!
