  • Please explain computer scoring!

I just don't understand what all is scored by the computer. I've been kicked out 3 times by the computer. What are the most common mistakes made on apps that kick you out?

Thoughts, comments, ideas and anything else would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, no one knows how the computer thinks. If we did, it becomes easy to beat it and move on. But in a nut shell the statistics, demographics etc. that you enter on the application are entered into the computer. They are bounced around and if they don't support the project that you have provided, you are kicked out.

As for mistakes I have seen departments understate their personnel costs, mutual aid responses, % of open space, but probably the most important the department budget. In one case the department added a million dollars to there 6 figure budget. This creates havoc, such as 30% personnel costs which = $700,000 in funds for projects, no brainer why it was denied.

What have you been applying for?
