Nope, reductions are hard, so it's not a set amount you got, it's a set amount for the quantity. The lone recourse is to use the $4999 in excess funds to reimburse yourself when everything else it taken care of.

Ok new question for the Lords (as in a fuedal reference not biblical) of grants. I reicived a reduction limiting how much I can spend on pants and coats. Is this a hard number or if my bids come in higher than the reduction requires can I still pay the higher amount as long as I stay within the total amount of the grant?

Radio @ Firehouse.com, did them last March. If you go to the home page and check under that link they're still there along with the one from the DHS folks.

Besides, as much fun as it is to watch things on YouTube it's not really an effective medium to go one way, so even with the PodCasts some info gets out but not as much as in an interactive environment. Most of the advanced learning in the classes comes from questions from the group.
I'll second that motion. Especially with a subject like grants where "human interpretation and perceptions" are so integral with the process.

Video-conferencing is an expensive proposition, considering that the receiving end will need quite a large broadband connection to make it happen. One of the other companies I work with as a free resource is the leader in video-conferencing technology. As a nerd, it's fun stuff, but expensive. Hence the AFG apps & awards to purchase it for training FDs as well as Incident Command/EOC/EMA operations.

On our level, too expensive of a format. Plane tickets and hotel for a weekend are a lot cheaper and more effective. Since someone can walk up to us and show us an application instead of having to hold it up to the camera.

Part of the value of going in person is hsaring ideas and such. Lunch, dinner and breaks have benefit that wouldn't happen on-line. Just my opinion.

Funny you shold ask that question. There has been a survey poll on my website for 6 months asking that very queston. Not many positive responses to it at this point and the distance learning costs for me to set up are very steep intitially without guarnteeing that I would have enough interest to pay for it.
