Stupid workshops anyway....
Hmmmphhhh! Ok, I'm officially pouting...or am I sulking...I'm not sure...either way doesn't look like I'll be able to make it to a workshop again this year. Really wanted to go because of the "significant changes" for vehicles. If I wanted to drive to Chicagoland or St. Louis area I sure could get my fill of them though....boy oh boy could I. Ok, now I'm just venting and preparing for my "Chicago should be its own state" speech. LoL Guess I'll just have to rely on all the great information that gets exchanged here in the forums. Everyone does a good job at keeping information up to date on here. Thanks everyone....this has been such a great therapy session...I feel the need for a group hug!Comment

Ok kids...here's another important lesson from your good ol' uncle Ryan. Contact your FPS and see if there any dates not listed on the site that they may have before you go whining and crying about how you never get any attention in downstate IL.
Feb 12, 7P @ Urbana for those of you interested.....

Man, Ryan don't be so hard on yourself!! I drove over to Bourbounnais (plus or minus a few letters) last year so i could catch an early session. Then went to one in my home district. It looks like they try to schedule one in every Congressional district, though that's my guess only.
Got to run, it's been a full day and i need to get to an "Elected Officials Reception" before i head to a dinner. It all sounds so much more fun and glamorous than it feels right now. I would really rather go home and catch an episode of the Andy Griffith Show on TV Land.

Ahhh...much better. Thank god for part time jobs at ambulance services and for 3 hour naps before bed time. I'm ready to go pick up that 500 lbs patient on the 3rd floor now....wait....what am I saying...maybe I should get just a little more rest...back to the sofa I head!Comment

Feel you on that 500lb patient. We had a 550 not long after we changed over to the Strykers. Otherwise we would have had to call mutual aid for a stretcher b/c ours were only 300lb limit.
And at least you can find a workshop to go to. Only one I can make is the one at Firehouse World on the 28th. My travel path is a perfect opposite of the workshop schedule. Speaking of which, better get to bed. 7am flight to sunny upstate NY, and 4am comes quick.Brian P. Vickers

As stated in a post a couple back, always check with your local reps to see if there are workshops scheduled that are not on the list. For example, if you look at the list for Maryland, you will only see one workshop scheduled. That is the only one that DHS/FEMA is delivering. There is also a link above the list to the MFRI web site that lists six workshops. That is because we are scheduling and delivering workshops above those done by DHS/FEMA so that we hit all regions of the state. I am sure that other states are doing similar things with localized deliveries. There is more emphasis this year on getting the information out via local deliveries.
