I think I rather be at a fire. I am in a NFIRS class right now. Free laptops through the state of Illinois if we attend the class. Using it right now, with the wireless Internet during class!

Same kind of whining you'll be doing at CEDAP training in a few months!! What did you "order" for this round??

This stuff is really dry! Luckily, each computer has internet to pass the time.

Trying for a Thermal Imaging Camera this time.

The Illinois State Fire Marshall has a $1,000,000 grant program this year for small equipment. We are shooting for some nozzles, hose, and saws.

            Then AFG coming up.

Too many grants, too little time.

Don't forget the barn fire with our neighbors to the west, or did you not make that one???

I made the standby at 46-008 for the hog barn fire, couldn't get away from the office for the 46-018 barn. Cold as it's been, i'm real happy that it's your port-a-tank and hose that we've been using!!

earl (and NO, not 0200 tonight!!)

K3 I wish I would have known you were at training this weekend...I probably would have met up with you to go...ohh wait...that was Saturday...hmmmm, no don't think I would have missed barstool golf for NFIRS training. We'll find another date.

We're trying for a TIC through CEDAP as well.

Putting the final touches on the SEGP this week. Going after all new 5" since most of ours is shot. Heard of any others applying? Wondered how popular the program was going to be. Figured most of the $$ would end up in the Chicago area. Did you do your app on a word document and attach it?

Thank goodness I got a big jump on AFG this year. Almost done with our app, our neighbors, and am about 50% for a new department I'm working with this year. Fun stuff.

Looks like we got us a crowd coming in here. Going to break thirty almost surely. Now if you would just get that temp up a bit..... and hold it there please!

Kurt--the temp is up!! Above freezing all day, snow melting into puddles (which will freeze tonight causing motorists to remember what ice was like).

Not2Late--Next time you host the seminar so i can be ahead of the game on grant apps!! I'm lagging.

k3twp and Not2Late--that TIC is great. The thermal throttle adds versatility and sensitivity that expand the mission. We're up for the PID set this year.

To all who are fence sitting--the lunch bids for the seminar will be opened tomorrow, make sure you get your registration in before we order food!!

earl (thank God my wife is taking care of the organization and procurement--or we'd all be standing around drinking tap water and eating potato chips!!)

                        Rats

                        Greenacres,

Sorry going to have to miss your seminar, only a few supervisors here at the nuke plant fire department and one of them has put in for FLSA to care for sick mom. I can't get the time off now....

Kurt, maybe I'll catch up with you somewhere..... I know it would have been great.

bob (don't bother checking registrations, I hadn't got that far yet)
                        I got your back

Sorry to hear that Bob--but since the prevailing winds are still out of the north--i'd prefer that your plant is well-protected!! Congrats on your regional comm grant--the rest of us will miss the opportunity to pick yer brain!!

                              10 day forecast

Well, it's not looking like grant seminar weather...
                              LaPorte Weather

High 30's, no snow--we'll have to see if Kurt can perform under such conditions!! Of course, it's early and subject to change.
