Got 10 Questions, but DHS really screwed up!

Got the 10 questions today. (The 2006 number appeared earlier this week on an older 1199A form.) Great! However, DHS screwed up big time. In the greetings line, it reads "Dear Mr. Chip Plankenhorn". That is NOT my name, nor is it the name of anyone associated with our grant. It gets worse when they ask the question about our EIN being correct. They list an EIN in the 10 ?s, but it is NOT our EIN. I did a search for it, and that EIN is for "Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company Number One" in Williamsport, PA. We are in Louisiana and have a name nothing like "Loyalsock".

However, the subject line of the email has our correct dept. name and our correct grant reference number.

It's gonna be a long wait till Monday morning when I can call the Help Desk about this one... Why me???

I got the same thing, "Plankerhorn and everything", called the help desk, he said copy the email, make the corrections and submit it back to them. If it was your app number then it was meant for you.

You all make me happy. I got the 10 q's today too and thought only my application was messed up. I got the same letter to Mr. Plankenhorn with the wrong EIN and everything. At least the award number was right! I made the corrections in my response as the other writer stated and hope all goes well.

It went to everyone apparently, one of my clients called me and told me. Funny thing is, so is Chip Plankenhorn of Loyalsock VFC in PA. I talked to him on the phone not that long ago, and the funny thing is that he didn't get the questions, even though their 1199A just showed up also.

I received them yesterday as well. Screwed up or not, it sure beats a DJ.

I'm just wondering what all Chip and I applied for.

Actually, I think the AFG staff should be commended. They perform a formidable task in a reasonable time frame and do so below allocated administrative cost. Perhaps the remainder of DHS or, the federal government should take notes.

Regardless of Chip or not, it sure seems like a hell of a lot of 1199's and 10Qs went out yesterday and earlier this week.
