  • NIMS Compliance

I'm having a brain fart. Does anyone remember what the NIMS requirements for 2007 are?

Here's the next question. Should we mention that we are performing XYZ in accordance with 2007 NIMS requirements?

    Try this...

Yes, i would mention NIMS compliance in the narrative. No need to be exhaustive, just a sentence or two.

Have you given any thought to coming up for Kurt's seminar on March 2-3? K3twp will be making the trip over.

Are you a mind reader?? I just talked to the fiance (still trying to get used to using that term) about coming up today. With her being el prego (all kinds of new stuff going on huh?) we want to make sure either she can make the trip or she'll be ok here on her own. So what I'm really saying is that I'm waiting for the boss to make the decision but I asked really nicely this morning. Once she gives the green light then gotta talk to the district and see if they'll reimburse for the course...which I already briefly discussed and think it's going to be a green light. So in short...sounds like I have a good chance of being there.

Congratulations Ryan--on both counts!! Bring her along--my wife is a child passenger safety tech so you can get a bonus education on the car seat. Is she due in mid-March or so??

We need to confirm 5 or 6 more slots in the next few weeks, so please pass the word around your area.

Ryan congrats on the lil one....just remember, no matter how bizzare her food craving fulfill it with a yes dear & a smile.

As for justificiation; tell your bosses what I did...spending 600-800 for travel and class in order to improve your chances is a worth while investment. If you apply for a 60,000.00 grant and get it, then thats a a ....well a some sort of percent return; I suck at math but its a great return?

What he said on the Return on Investment, it only takes one award to forget about how small that $$ spent on the class really is in the grand scheme of things.

And if they won't pony up I'll be giving a free one in Indianapolis on the 13th (whole day) and a PM version in Central IL on the 20th.

Hey Ryan, for clarification he's referring to the Fiance here. At least for now.

Thanks Everyone! Times...they are a changin...but only for the good. We're really excited. This will be our first child and as hectic as things were at first, they really couldn't be better right now.

We talked about it and she's all for having a little get away, so I think we'll be heading up that way. She's not due until July 18 so traveling right now isn't a big concern.

Child passenger safety tech huh? Are they the people responsible for making it impossible to work those things?? We got a car seat and stroller as a Christmas gift from some good friends and the four of us spent the better part of an hour trying to figure out how the car seat locked into the stroller and then how you got it back out. I'm sure it would have been humuerous to watch.

Forgot to ask the chief last night when I saw him (busy trying to get bid approved for this new truck) but I'm sure it won't be a problem to get them to pay for it. I think they already know the return is well worth it. Going to try and get a definite in the next couple of days.

Already been dealing with the cravings a little. Had to go to the local gas station the other night cause momma wanted an ice cream sandwich but didn't want me to go to the store and buy a whole box...just wanted one. Been doing pretty good though...whatever momma wants...momma gets.

Brian, you doing it the 13th and 20th of this month or March? Indy is only an hour away and I live in East Central IL so feel free to send some info my way and I'm certain I will be there ([email protected]).

Thanks for the clarification there Earl. The information you provide is such an invaluable insight. LoL

You know...it's not the cravings that are the concern but the mood swings. She asked where something was the other night and I told her and even offered to get it for her and I was still in the doghouse. I didn't even have a clue what I did. I just did the yes dear and sorry dear...then 10 minutes later she was crying because she was mean to me. LoL, later she laughed about it, because she knows she's doing the mood swing thing. It's definitely been an experience so far.

And it keeps getting better. In 2 days ours hits 1 year old. I can't believe it's been a year.

Anywho, not sure of the Central IL location yet but that's Feb 20, and the Indy one is the week before Feb 13. 20th is 6p-10p, 13th is all day. I'll have the specifics up shortly, still trying to catch up on phone calls and emails, so updating the web site becomes a nighttime operation.

I imagine it does! Wouldn't trade it for the world though.

Arrgghhh...weekdays. Work won't let me off for that and with da baby coming in July gotta bank those hours...but I can probably swing the evening course as long as it isn't more than an hour away. Just keep me in the loop. I'm definitely interested in going.

I meant better as in the mood swings not being that bad. My wife didn't have many but it was still part of the best thing that ever happened to us so I would have put up with 9 months of mood swings.

10-4K. I'm still waiting on location info myself, so as soon as I get it I'll shoot you an email. I think I still have it, I'm trying to get all of my contacts off of webmail and into Outlook. Keep an eye on the web site, wherever we do it will seat at least 50, hopefully more.

                            10-4K, saved it.

I'm thinking Peoria area since the office is in Washington for the IL one. I'm going to be there Monday morning so they may add another IL one on the 19th. Same for Indy on the 12th. It's been such a warm winter I'm adding travel delay time into the schedule just in case. Gives me time to work on writing apps in the hotel too.

Ewwwwppphhhh, how about Bloomington? I could probably make it from Newport, IN to Bloomington, IL getting off at 4PM in time to make it for a 6PM start time. LoL, well like I said just let me know what ends up turning out and I'll try to make it.
