Recieved a call today from an apparatus salesman (been working with him on possible AFG) who was delivering a CEDAPII AMKUS power set to a department. He said he was informed by AMKUS that they were gearing up for an announcement on December 1st! I told him the last I had heard was Jan and he said that had been changed. I wonder if RKB has any insite?

I just got off the phone with RKB and per the CEDAP program office, "awards will be latter half of January". That AMKUS rep was misinformed. No early Xmas folks.

            WalMart

Ok, if setting dates, how long do you think it will take Wal-Mart to sort through their requests?

If you filed by Oct 30 you should be able to get an answer by now. Call the store where you filed and ask. Those are decided at the regional store level so they should be able to say yea or nay, unless they pushed your application to the next round because they already committed their share prior to you applying. If they say they had no money left, be sure to ask if the application can go straight ahead to the next time they will be funding or if you need to re-apply.

                Corporate giving

I guess they work a bit faster than DHS.

I thank all of you for the views, tidbits, and good old firehouse gossip that is posted. My wife is suggesting that I start rehab from the number of times I refresh the grants threads.

Can you change what you requested ? We received a local grant for what we requested from CEDAP
                    ?

                      CEDAP Comments

Sorry for not posting sooner, but I wanted to talk to the Program Manager to make sure we were still on the schedule. As I posted some time ago, the announcements for CEDAP awards for this latest phase are scheduled for the latter part of January. Vendors can "gear up" all they want, but the process is likely to follow the schedule we've laid out. There is a peer review/scoring process to go through, and those folks are working hard. Note that when the final list is ready, it also needs to go to Congress so that they can announce first. All that (and the impact of the holidays) has been factored into the schedule, and the target is late January. Start watching the RKB site by mid-January, and make sure you notify the CEDAP program office if your email address changes.

Also, I noticed the question about whether you can change your choice. The answer is no -- in fact, we just deleted the application of a department that got their desired equipment via another grant and had the courtesy to withdraw their application so that the funds could be used for a less fortunate department. My hat's off to that Chief! Anyone in that situation should do the same and plan on requesting something else in CEDAP 07.

Speaking of which, you should know that the planning for CEDAP 07 has already started, and RKB is working toward a tentative target date of 1 March for the start of the application period. That could still change a little forward or back based upon higher level guidance, but current confidence is high for 1 March.

                      Best regards to all.

                        RKB,

Thanks for the update, you folks are always on the ball.

I completly agree RKB is by far ahead of the game at letting everyone know what is going on, and actually sticking to it.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone from AFG would read these posts and follow RKB's lead?
