Profile Updates vs. Grants

Just curious...I know that profile updates are generated automatically by the mainframe, but I'm all about hope, so I'd like to know out of those who have gotten updated 1199a's for 2006 AFG, how many have had profile updates prior to that?

Or do I need to go back to the "Checking way too many times a day for my own health" thread?

We received a profile update just prior to getting our AFG 1199a Update link. Personally, I think it was coincidence since it had been a while since we had received an update profile request.

If you leave the "Checking too many times" forum, you may put Earl over the edge by losing another member

We have had a ref number for 2006 fg for over 2 weeks now on a old 1199a grant for 2002 and we did get a profile update last week but still no 1199a link in the drop down box. No questions no phone calls nothing. I am starting to think that the ref number 2006 fg was a mistake.
Worried is the word of the day.

We had an "Update Profile" back in like May or June (may have even been April) and the 2006-FG number added to the 1199 on 9-6, so it truly is a cyclical issue. That said, i log in regularly just to check the message center, so we saw ours within a few days of hitting our spot on the cycle. weezride--a Profile Update is more likely a function of just logging in. You still belong in the "Freaking Out" thread--no matter which list you end up on!!

Vulture--If the '06 number shows on a prior 1199a, it shouldn't show as a new drop-down item on the current app. That only happens to those who have never executed an 1199a. (The best medicine is to look at the '02 form and marvel over the '06 number. Do this at least 3 times per day while chanting a mantra to the Three Grant Gurus. Then go to the "Freakin' Out" thread.

It still never ceases to amaze me at how many people just "skip" past the profile update and then wonder why nothing new appears for them though.

Folks if the update profile is showing, don't ignore it. They will NOT communicate with you at all until you do so. I have clients calling me who have not logged into their applications since April, when they submitted, even after countless reminder emails. They must belong to the " I'll check it out when next years AFG opens" thread.

We got the update profile message for the past 3 years. 2 of which we were later awarded. We got 2 of those messages within the past 4-5 months, but no news yet.
