  • What happens if....

You already have puchased what you put in for in your grant? 3 years running we applied for a rescue truck, and this year so far we are still in the running. But after we put in this years application a realignment of resources and a chance at a great deal on a demo walk around rescue allowed us to fill the need.

If we get selected now, will we be disqualifies or will they allow us to use the funds to pay off the truck (it is financed)?

According to the program guidance http://www.usfa.fema.gov/downloads/p...ants-guide.pdf

"Pre-award costs: Generally, grantees cannot use funds to pay for products and services contracted for, or purchased prior to the effective day of the grant. However, expenses incurred after the application deadline but prior to the award may be eligible for reimursement if the expenses were justified, unavoidable, consistant with the grants scope of work, and specifically aproved by FEMA/USFA. FEMA/USFA will consider requests for reimbursement for pre-award costs on a case by case basis"

So, your best bet would be to call them and tell them what your proposing to do, and find out which way to go from there. Or you could just drop out and send that money my way
