  • status? What does it mean?

We have now been waiting for 7 weeks for some type of response. At first we recieved the 6 questions. Then we recieved the 1199a form. We then recieved confirmation of both of these items to FEMA by email and phone call. Then a week later another phone call and email from fema asking another two questions. Fema would only allow so much on certain items listed in our grant, were we ok with this small change in funding. Of course I said yes. and emailed a yes to FEMA also. The next day on the application site, under status, it stated submitted on 9/2/03. This has not bee there before, does anyone know what this is, and to what effect it will have? It has now been almost two weeks since the last questions and was still wondering. We are into our 8th week.

We had the same thing here Monday. If you look at your budget detail in your application you will probably see that it has been reduced by what they asked you about.

Since they changed the application, the software probably indicated that with the submission date change.

I wouldn't worry about it, getting the questions in the first place is a very good sign.

shawnee271 is correct. I got the 6 questions on Saturday 9/6, mine had two more questions. One was about a TIC we bid on was too much money. I replied on Sunday, and the summit date has changed to 9/8. I checked my application, and the TIC had been changed to the lower number($12,000). Thanks shawnee271.

We went through the same thing. They reduced the TIC to $12,000 and the process went right on without a hitch.

I wouldn't get too worried, it sounds like you're in good shape.

          Just a thought!!

Maybe next year FEMA could publish the limits on certain pieces of equipment. ie: $12000 for a TIC. Seems that this would save a lot of paper work.

We anwsered our eight questions on 8/28/03, and recieved conformation that the questions were recieved on the same day. But, as far as our status it has not changed, and there has been no amendment to our dollar amount. After you sent your reply, how long was it before your status changed.

The day we answered the questions, I contacted the FEMA rep in the e-mail to make sure she got it. She did and said she and already "forwarded it to the next level". I've got no idea what that means. We didn't hear another word from FEMA or any other governmental official until the day we were announced. In fact, we first saw our name in print right here of firehouse.com. One of our members called me at 5:15AM to tell me we were on the list.

I got up (didn't mind getting awakened this time) and got online. We had our e-mail notice of award and our application screen had been changed. The timeframe for us was 12 days from submitting our answers to getting an award but I wouldn't use that as a benchmark. Another department in the county got the questions two weeks before us and got announced a week later. Go figure.

I'm very confident that if you've been asked to complete your 1199a and then answer the questions, you're good to go. Just keep checking!
