Close out of 2002 ?

Just a quick question. Noticed on the 2002 Grant Status Action column, there is a Closeout Grant action. Is there any truth to the rumour that awards for 2003 will not be made/announced until 2002 is closed ? This has probably already been answered somewhere, but I missed it.

It may have been in the Final Rule, as I remember seeing it somewhere myself that you can't have two opened at the same time. I've got the Closeout link myself. Just have to get someone to answer a few questions on it (and I'll stick the questions and answers here to hopefully reduce phone calls to FEMA). I don't believe the timing of the link is tied to anything. Maybe it is, but I'm not going to read anything into it. Our closeout has to be performed by Oct 15th as that makes the end of the 12 month period. When is the end of your 12 months? Maybe it does mean something.

Without looking at it, our closeout is around then too. We were in the sixth round last year.

I finally got some answers to my questions about how to do the closeout for a truck. Which I will post a little later. I did get it confirmed that the 2002 Closeout is NOT related to the 2003 notification. You can have more than one grant open at a time.

If you've seen that topic on your grant, it's telling you that your year is about up and you MUST file your final close out report. Click it and it will be self explanitory. And yes, depending on when you hit, you may have two grants open or running concurrently at one time.

We received a grant in 2002 and then again in 2003. We received 2003 in July (round 10) and I just got the closeout for our 2002 grant. Hope this answers your questions.
