Round Three

Have received word - through media only - that we have been successfully & fully awarded. In all local newspapers, but we've received no official notification. Anyone else received notification? Good luck to all others!

We are in a similar situation. Our congressman's office sent notification through the political channels and the media. I am the primary contact on the application and I have not received "official" notification from FEMA. Just for information purposes we were also fully funded at $93,708.

Same thing happened to us in round 2, check your email you may already have been officially awarded. If not it will probably be Friday.

firedude801, Where is Fair Play, SC? I saw you got awarded. We were awarded in round 2. We are in Kershaw County, SC.

Today I came out of a meeting to find a voice mail from our congresswoman's office in DC. They asked me all kinds of info about my organization (I wrote the grant for a department but am not a member of it). I asked if that meant the grant was moving forward (had done the 6 questions last Wednesday)and they couldn't/wouldn't tell me! I didn't know it was a Round Three awardee till I got my email from Firehouse.com this evening. So if you haven't received the official notice, I wouldn't worry too much. As long as the department gets the funding, I don't care who tells us!

RE: Where is Fair Play? We are the southern most fire district in Oconee County covering I-85 MM 1-4.

We received our 'official' notification via email @ 05:18(!) this morning.

For the many still waiting;
We received our '6-question' email AND our '1199A' email on 6/10.

And for a funny side bar. We are unmanned volunteer station. This morning we found a pile of literature leaning on the door from in-state fire equipment dealers! Normally we can't get them to answer the phone, but now they're hunting us down. Get a couple of dollars and the world is your friend.

Yea the vendors will start to work with you once they find out you got money. We are unmanned vol fire dept also. I called around getting new quotes and they knew we had been awarded the grant before I told them.


What are you using your grant for?

We are purchasing gear and airpacks.

Like your dept. we will also be purchasing SCBA, and turnout gear.

Additionally we're getting multi-media training equipment and library, plus breathing air compressor, cascade, & fill station.
