  • Second round on the way!

East Cypress Fire Department, Faulkner County, Arkansas was notified today by Senator Lincoln's office that our project totaling $92,500 was to be funded and we would be contacted by FEMA shortly.

    Project included:

12 sets of Structure and Wildland PPE
Upgrade of 10 SCBA to current standards with integrated passes and buddy breathers.
6 new SCBAs with extra bottles
    2 RIT Paks
    Thermal Image Camera
    Generator Set
    5 Dual Band UHF/VHF Radios
Complete Multimedia Training Library and 24 Essentails Manuals

We are a small rural volunteer department that operates on an annual budget of $18,000. We have doubled our membership in recent years and this funding will provide all Fire Fighters with needed PPE. The SCBA upgrades and additional packs will meet all ISO requirments for our apparatus and provide additional air. Our fill station is 15 miles away. The dual band radios will assist with communicatiuons with our aid partners in the next county who operate on UHF vs VHF in our county. Tanker shuttles are the norm here. The Thermal Imager is a welcome tool and great addition to our capabilities. The training library will improve our capability to train our new members in house in a timely manner. We are most thankful for this award and wish all applicants the best of luck. For your info our grant was written in house. We attended the FEMA presentation and 2 grant writing seminars. Good luck to all!

Ditto on the congrats. Nicely put together list of needs.

Just out of curiousity, did you get the 6 questions and 1199A link prior to Round 1 or just this week? I was figuring that to save effort they're sending out a bunch at a time, but just wanted some confirmation.

Thanks and congrats again. Time to get out the order sheets.

        Thanks & 11199A

Thanks folks, you couldn't blast the smiles off faces here with a deck gun. Brian, I tripped over the 1199A link on our application during one of my hourly checks just before the announcment of the first round of awards. Down loaded the form, had the bank complete it and sent it back express mail. By the way, buried in the FEMA instructions for the 1199A is a request to express mail it back to expidite processing. Few days later the 6 questions showed up. Been sitting on pins and needles for over a week until the call from Senator Lincoln's office. Hang in there folks, and good luck to all!

Thanks for the answer. So it looks like they are making the 1199A available the week prior and the 6 questions early in the week. Just wanted to try and get a grip on the motis operandi. Congrats to all Round 2 winners.
