Maybe my cheif can answer this one but I think I will ask somebody on this board. What exactly is this 1199A thing? I would really like to know. Also what if you didn't provide an e-mail, how do you know if you got the grant or not.

The 1199a is the Direct Deposit Form, it's used to set up a direct deposit of you grant in to your departments checking or savings account. If you have it on your app. it doesn't mean you've been awarded, but it's something that is needed just in case.
And if you don't provide an email address then, more than likely, they will contact you by phone. If that doesn't work, then they will send notification to you snail mail. You can also check the USFA web site or here for the list of winning departments.Firefighters are Crazy!! But God bless each one of you all!! -
It's kind of a strange situation, since they ask for the banking information in the application itself, but I guess for legal or accountability reasons they must have an original signed form in hand prior to fulfilling any money requests.
If you don't have an email address listed under the contact information they will try the phone number. If you don't have that, they'll go for regular US Mail. I'd call and check and give them every possible piece of contact information that they can enter so that you know as soon as they need something.
Good luck.

We got our six questions today over the phone. FEMA called the Fire Dept Wednesday, with us being vol. we didn't get it until Thursday. Our chief was gonna call today but they called him at home.
We also have the 1199a link and have filled that out.
They told our chief on the phone we should know something "soon".
We applied for gear and airpacks.Comment
