What have been the hot items awarded to non affiliated EMS agencies? Ambulances, rescues, ALS equipment, specialty items as in bariatrics devices, training?

    Thanks in advance for response!

There has been several power cots, power loads and cardiac monitors awarded for the past several years. They seem to be the hot items in EMS. Very competitive items as ambulances are not as easy to justify as most services are on a revolving replacement programs. Not saying they can't be got though. Jeff

OK so here is a question I'll pose to the group, specifically my other colleagues in here. Would a 501c3 Medi-vac service be eligible under stand-alone status for AFG? They receive no financial support fomr hospitals, they are an ALS transport service. Just wondering.

Medi-vac. As in transfers only? I hope not.

If they have ambulances that transport patients and also do air evacs then yes for anything ground transport related. If no buses, no money.

Thanks Brian. I was pretty sure that they had to be using ground transport and in fact that is what they are looking for is equipment for their ground unit.
