Did they expend all of 2009?

If they didn't, will they expend all of 2010?

    Just trying to confirm.

Thanks for keeping up with this Andy.

What a difference $210 million makes

Well let's take a look and compare some things here from better times. AFG has lost $210 million to SAFER. So lets look back at 2008 when the appropriation for AFG was $535 million and see what a differences it has made to this program now in 2010.

        Appropriation for 2010 / 2008

        Total: $339,400,000 / $535,000,000
        OPS: $241,900,000 / 401,250,000
        VEH: $97,500,000 / 133,750,000

        Awards Round 19: / 47

        Total Awards To Date:

        2878 awards: $328,572,550 / 5266 awards: $492,527,657

        Breakdown:

        OPS: 2469 awards..... .$237,757,007 / 4626: $359,776,283
        VEH: 409 awards.......$90,815,543 / 639 : $132,751,374

        Average Award:

        OPS: $96,297 / $77,773
        VEH: $222,043 / $207,748

In the end what that boiled down to was that roughly 2388 less departments are getting awards now, then in 2008...3 years ago!!!!! In just 3 years, the Fire Service has ALREADY BEEN CUT the equivalent of almost an entire year of funding awards from this program.

With these statistics, is this a sneak peek to where AFG is heading in the future?

More of a reminder of what uninformed or rather should I say misinformed voter and political apathy can lead to.
