Does anyone know if it would do any good to apply for radios and pagers due to the upcoming narrowbanding or is p25 all that is eligible

Radios and pagers are fine. P25 is NOT a requirement at the federal level.

Now, your communications grant has to comply with your state guidelines, normally called your SCIP. If THEY call for P25, then your radios will have to be. Pagers will normally fly as there are no P25 pagers.

What state are you in? I can most likely advise you what that SICP plan requires, and where you can find it.

Chief TN does not require P25 yet. As long as they meet the narrowband requirements you are good. (Didn't we talk about this a few weeks ago?)
