I noticed that round 17 was posted today and I am getting a little concerned. We received our 1199a update in early Feb and received our 10 questions the second week of Feb (with a reduction). Sent it back the same day and have heard nothing since then. Is this common or are we probably out of the running? Thanks for any feedback.

You are in much better shape than many , that don't have an 199 or questions yet.
Odd are still in your favor.

We are sort of in the same position. We received the 1199A and then 10 questions with a reduction back in mid January. There was an error in the budget part of the 10 questions - they referenced the full amount instead of using the proposed reduction - but still I would have thought we would have heard something by now but we have not. I am beginning to think anyone that had a reduction is being held til the very end. Guess we will have to wait and see! I am trying to be positive and remain hopeful but the suspense is killing me!!!!!

Still a few hundred more awards to come. It's very nervewracking to be on the end of the line like this, but with an 1199A showing, it's a very positive sign. Everything will be over within a few weeks with the exception of supplemental funding awards due to excess funds returned or grants being turned down, but that will trickle throughout the summer.

            Congrats on that one Kurt:
Bet they offer to fly you back to the islands for another trip.
Must have been an incredible narrative.

It was and thanks for the kudos, I am quite proud of that one. Took 2 years to convince them that they needed 2 new pumper/tankers. They have three islands to cover, only 1 engine each on 2 of them with only 750 gals water and no hydrants or tankers. Mutual aid for personnel is 2 hour boat ride or 30 minutes by air but they still cannot get more water or additional apparatus. If you didn't get it out with 750 gals, it burned to the ground. Hopefully 3750 gals will allow some proper SAR, FF safety factor and a solid initial attack where they can actually save a few of the residents homes and businesses. BTW that followed last weeks $1.4 mil SAFER for them to have enough staff to man the new trucks and meet 2 in 2 out on the out islands. And before anyone starts complaining you should know that these guys are mutual aid to the USN Pacific Fleet refueling depot and he lost 40% of his force that has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in the Army reserves and they were called up for last 3 years running. They lost 90% of their tourist and textile industry employers when China Air quit servicing them and they no longer had regular airline service from Asia which brought all their tourists. After Super Typhoon Ponga a few years back, all the garment factories were destroyed and not rebuilt and operations were moved to Taiwan and China. They have 27% unemployment rate and average yearly income for a resident is only about $18K per year. They were truly needy and they deserved the help desperately!
