Does anyone have any information on when they will start announcing awards?

Peer Review completed about a week + ago, got to get through Tech Review process and other small hurdles. Going to be a few weeks before any 1199As drop at the earliest. Official award announcements a bit away.

Anyone have any new updates on when the 2010 FP&S awards may start appearing ??.
The last post I could find on this topic was on March 9, 2010 indicating a few weeks.

Plans are to start dropping 1199s for FP awards sometime this month, but that could change with the AFG shutdown which starts tomorrow!

Maybe now Congress realizes the trouble that we have when we try to get 25 Chief's in a room to agree on what kind of radio system they want for a regional communications type application.LOL!

Boy if that isn't the truth Kurt. I compare that to herding cats through a slalom course.

Anyone managing to get that many "Chiefs" to agree on anything deserves a medal ::: or a case of really good Bourbon.
Been there done that, didn't get the hootch.

In the end we just told them what the radio engineers & I had decided to make the best workable system design and it was there if they wanted to partake in the grant.
Most did , but a few refused because it wasn't their way.
Thats ok they lost out!

I just simply wish one calming voice of reason would emerge from this cacophony of back biting and finger pointing.Honestly, their continued bickering and infighting is disgusting to watch! Quit your whining and start earnestly trying to find some common ground here and compromise on something. Any decison is better than no decision at this point.

FP&S Grant 2010 Questions

Yesterday, I recieved questions from FEMA Program Specialist concerning our FP&S grant for CO detectors. Only 4 questions.

1) If you are selected for a grant award, would you accept?

2) After you submitted this application, did your department have an urgent need to purchase any of the items requested in the application?

3) Did you include a grant writer’s fee in your budget?

4) For Research and Development Applicants: Do you understand that the funds can only cover expenses for up to three years and that you have to spend the funding within three years of your grant award date?

Have not received the 1199A for the fire prevention grant. Only other information with the questions was the lead-in"

It would be under a prior grant's View 1199A, they probably wouldn't send a new Update 1199A link unless it's been more than 5 years or banking info changed.

2010 Fire Prevention Grants

The award #'s for grants we received from 2003 to 2007 are listed under the 1199A for the 2003 grant. The award # for the 2010 grant for PPE was listed under 1199A for the 2010 grant. The fire prevention award reference # was not listed in either place over the weekend. The award reference # for the fire prevention grant is now there and listed with the 1199A for the 2010 PPE.
