Kind of brings to mind the saying about teach a man to fish, give a man a fish.

So more money for SAFER for the big cities that can't provide thier own staffing.

Bet the IAFF is dancing nin the streets at the thought of this.

So much for the original intent of the program.

To be honest, it wouldn't bother me a bit if SAFER was eliminated.

"If you take out $5 million for non-affiliated EMS there will be only $150,050,000 for the fire side."

Definitely makes me rethink my grant proposal this year.

If this level of funding remains we will be lucky if there is $178 million left over for Ops. Past practice shows that final number will be substantially less. If no changes are made to the funding levels in the PG that will occur.

    $250 million (appropriation)
-$10 million (Admin. 4% max. has been allowed)
-$22.45 million (FP&S about 8.98% AFG adds extra above the required 5%)
-$62.5 million (vehicles up to 25%)
    $155,050,000 remains available for Ops

If you take out $5 million for non-affiliated EMS there will be only $150,050,000 for the fire side.

I know Craig personally from one of the organizations I was with. I was President , he was Secretary. He came from the trenches as most of us have and is willing to fight to help preserve the AFG funding.
