Any "reliable" scuttlebutt on schedule for next round of Dear Johns? I heard rumor all several weeks ago would be out by the end of Feb?

The PDJ's are being processed, but no definitive date for release. Based on the awards to date.....should be shortly...my guess within the next 2 weeks.

Dear John (FYI)

Last year my department received the infamous Dear John letter, disappointing . Then on September 29th we received the email stating out 2009 grant was approved. Now that was a nice surprise I must say.

After patiently waiting for the Dear John Letters last year we ended up applying for the same equipment in the 2010 grant application. We are going to be forced to decline the grant if we are awarded one this year, hopefully some lucky company out there will get the same surprise we did.

My suggestion is to have two projects ready to go and alternate the projects so you don't submit for the same grant request two years in a row.

Good luck to everyone, We don't need the Dear John this year, we already know we can't use the grant
