I'm looking at a grant with one of my departments that'll allow us to upgrade our SCBA from 1997 and 2002 editions of NFPA 1981 to the current standard. It seems like I've seen others on here that have recieved similar grants.
The question came up today as to whether or not we can go beyond simply upgrading to meet the minimum of the standard to include some options (RIT lines and built-in tracking in particular). I think I already know the answer and have inquired with AFG (awaiting their response, did it after business hours), but I thought I'd feel you guys out.
If nothing else, it's something someone else may end up facing in the future and may provide some information in that regards.
