Has anyone had luck getting a Fire Truck Simulator through AFG? Did you do it as a regional project or your department with use being available to others? Was it stationary or mobile? If you have been successful please contact me [email protected]. I welcome pros and cons to this idea too. Thanks

Driving simulator
I know the City of Buffalo NY just was awarded a grant for one but don't know details. Their award was over $320,000.00. Here is link to local article - http://www.buffalonews.com/city/comm...icle319422.ece
Maybe you could try to contact someone in the department for more info. Good luck!

Won't happen because of cost-benefit for a smaller department unless it's a regional to mimic the numbers of a large/huge department with a lot of historical costs on driver training.
And since they aren't mobile units they may not allow them in a regional unless like live burn trailers it's tied to certified instruction class funding that's included in the app.Brian P. Vickers

Driver Trainer
City of Portland Maine was awarded one in the past couple of years. When they are not using it the trainer is loaned out to surrounding departments."There's no such thing as a bad day,

There is a trailer mounted unit at St. Cloud Technical & Community College in MN. Tried it out at Mn chiefs show last fall. Very slick. Great way to throw in problems , blow tire, slick roads etc.
