Not sure if this is the right place or not, but does anyone know of a way to fund a small fire prevention program? I have been trying to get a fire prevention program started in my area since we have a grade school in our coverage area and looking for ways to fund it. also if anyone knows of anywhere that donates materials besides usfa i would love to know.
    thanks

Lots of info - much of which is designed to be printed off and used as handouts.

You can order some stuff from the US Fire Admin for free.

State Farm agents also have handouts sometimes, as do Fireman's Fund agents. FM Global also runs a Fire Prevention grant program, few thousand is the average award from them.

Start for free. Squirt water, foam, master stream. Let kids play with booster line. Let them listen to a smoke alarm activation. Stop, Drop & Rock,n,Roll. Dress up like a fireman with all the gear. Thats how to start a prevention program for grade schools and it will hardly cost you anything. Work up from there.

elk1544, may I first suggest that you "assess" what the level of knowledge currently is. put together a test with help of some of the teachers and see where your kids and seniors knowledge level is. Then design your program around those results. FP&S grant from FEMA will work with you to fund what you need but, you have to "justify" the problem first. Get your facts together first, the rest is easy.
