Salvage Fire
At around 1930 hrs. Mt.Pleasant Fire was dispatched to the 2100 blk of E. FRontage RD for a report of a grass fire. First rig on scene reported a working fire with heavy black smoke and heavy flames. At this point, they came across a pile of car's that was on fire; it wasn't grass fire. Command called in to dispatch and requested extra tanker to the scene. A port-a-tank was set on the road for water supply. The fire was 1/4 mile off the road. LDH was laid from the port-a-tank to first engine that was at the fire scene; no relay pumping was used. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Rehab was also in scene. Dept's on scene were;

There are literally thousands of fire departments, nationwide, that are struggling to keep their doors open on a shoestring budget. Many don't have personal protective clothing, breathing apparatus, or even helmets to protect these courageous firefighters. Some are fighting structure fires in blue jeans and sweatshirts, and some of the poorer departments don't even have fire engines, they have to fight structure fires with a brush truck. That is unacceptable when larger departments are destroying good usable equipment, on a daily basis, which could be donated to these needy departments.

Salvage Fire
At around 1930 hrs. Mt.Pleasant Fire was dispatched to the 2100 blk of E. FRontage RD for a report of a grass fire. First rig on scene reported a working fire with heavy black smoke and heavy flames. At this point, they came across a pile of car's that was on fire; it wasn't grass fire. Command called in to dispatch and requested extra tanker to the scene. A port-a-tank was set on the road for water supply. The fire was 1/4 mile off the road. LDH was laid from the port-a-tank to first engine that was at the fire scene; no relay pumping was used. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Rehab was also in scene. Dept's on scene were;

There are literally thousands of fire departments, nationwide, that are struggling to keep their doors open on a shoestring budget. Many don't have personal protective clothing, breathing apparatus, or even helmets to protect these courageous firefighters. Some are fighting structure fires in blue jeans and sweatshirts, and some of the poorer departments don't even have fire engines, they have to fight structure fires with a brush truck. That is unacceptable when larger departments are destroying good usable equipment, on a daily basis, which could be donated to these needy departments.
