    LOS ANGELES, CA:
    GREATER ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE:

On Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 0420 Hours (4:20 AM PDT), twelve Companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, three LAFD Rescue Ambulances, one EMS Battalion Captain, two Chief Officer Command Teams and various support units, all under the direction of Assistant Chief Dean Cathey responded to a Greater Alarm Structure Fire at 21906 Londelius Street in Chatsworth. The first Company to arrive on scene reported a large one-story ranch-style single family home well involved with fire. Firefighters using handlines mounted an aggressive interior attack on the fire, which quickly took hold of the attic in the metal shingle roof structure. The fire was confined to the 2,574 square-foot residence and extinguished in just ninety minutes. There were no injuries. Loss from the fire is estimated at $375,000 ($300,000 structure & $75,000 contents). The cause of this early morning blaze is under active investigation.
