*** GET WELL CARD ALERT ***

Chief Charlie Black, President of the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association had suffered a very serious stroke.

Charlie is a life-long member of the Maryland fire service serving in numerous positions as well as an Ex-Chief. He currently is President of the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association, President of Potomac Fire Equipment (one of the nations most successful PIERCE FIRE APPARATUS dealers) and he was clearly, the "Heart and Soul" of the incredible Chesapeake Fire Museum in Hebron, MD.

Charlie is at Peninsula Regional Medical Center - Room 3536 located at 100 E. Carrol Street, Salisbury, MD 21801 or his family (wife Carol) can be contacted in c/o Potomac Fire Equipment, P.O. Box 280, Hebron, MD 21830.

Just last Thursday we spent the morning with Charlie at the Museum/Potomac Fire Equipment where he was showing us the major expansion plans. In his usual form, he took out time to show us his major love-the history of the Maryland Fire Service intertwined with his excitement for the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association---and how proud he was of how far it has come in the last several years. Many of you attending the Maryland State Fireman's Convention also saw Charlie (and many of his fellow Maryland Chiefs) walk the entire length of the parade-collecting money for the Firefighters Memorial "Boot" drive.

Please keep Charlie and his family in your hopes and prayers for a quick recovery.

    Take Care,
    BillyG
