    LOS ANGELES, CA:
    GREATER ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE:

On Saturday, June 14, 2003 at 2119 hours, eleven companies of Firefighters, three Chief Officer Command Teams and two Rescue Ambulances under the direction of Assistant Chief Gregory West responded to a greater alarm structure fire at 14545 Victory Boulevard in the Van Nuys area. First units on scene reported a six-story office building with heavy smoke on the third floor. Firefighters using handlines confined the fire to one office of the “Golden State Financial Services” and extinguished the fire in thirty-four minutes. No injuries were reported. Due to the intensity of the fire, a copper water line separated creating a substantial salvage operation of water removal from the first three floors. The cause was electrical and the loss is estimated at $150,000. ($90,000 to structure and $60,000 to contents).
