W/F Fatal, Kansas City, KS 2600blk Essex St (Rosedale) working fire in an occupied private dwelling. Two brothers, ages 2 and 9, killed. Two other brothers, 5 and 8, and 78-yr old grandmother all in critical condition w/burns and smoke inhalation. House reported to not have working smoke detectors.

GREATER ALARM:
On Thursday, May 22, 2003, at 2232 hours (10:32 p.m.) twelve companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, two Battalion Command Officer Teams and two LAFD Rescue Ambulances, under the direction of Battalion Commander Gary Bowie, responded to a Greater Alarm Structure Fire at 6643 North Woodley Avenue in the Lake Balboa/Reseda area. First units on the scene reported a detached carport behind a two-story apartment building with several cars well involved with fire. Firefighters using handlines aggressively attacked the fire confining the fire to thirteen vehicles and the carport and prevented the fire from spreading to several adjacent apartment buildings. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is listed as suspicious/under investigation. Fire damage is estimated at $72,750. ($47,750 contents and $25,000 structure).

W/F Fatal, Kansas City, KS 2600blk Essex St (Rosedale) working fire in an occupied private dwelling. Two brothers, ages 2 and 9, killed. Two other brothers, 5 and 8, and 78-yr old grandmother all in critical condition w/burns and smoke inhalation. House reported to not have working smoke detectors.

GREATER ALARM:
On Thursday, May 22, 2003, at 2232 hours (10:32 p.m.) twelve companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, two Battalion Command Officer Teams and two LAFD Rescue Ambulances, under the direction of Battalion Commander Gary Bowie, responded to a Greater Alarm Structure Fire at 6643 North Woodley Avenue in the Lake Balboa/Reseda area. First units on the scene reported a detached carport behind a two-story apartment building with several cars well involved with fire. Firefighters using handlines aggressively attacked the fire confining the fire to thirteen vehicles and the carport and prevented the fire from spreading to several adjacent apartment buildings. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is listed as suspicious/under investigation. Fire damage is estimated at $72,750. ($47,750 contents and $25,000 structure).
