PALM HARBOR - Alt. U.S. 19 was closed for about 45 minutes late Thursday afternoon after construction workers using heavy equipment severed an underground natural gas line at Alt. 19 and Florida Avenue, according to Palm Harbor Fire Rescue. No one was hurt and no other property was damaged, but firefighters evacuated nearly two dozen people from six or seven downtown businesses, including the Thirsty Marlin restaurant, Marvin's Auto Service, and Day's Collision, Painting & Repair, said Palm Harbor Fire Rescue Lt.
