SEFFNER - Commuters should steer clear of part of Martin Luther King Boulevard today.
An overturned garbage-filled semi truck is blocking the westbound lanes at I-75, and garbage has spilled out across the lanes. Traffic is being diverted onto northbound I-75.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the truck, driven by Alex Quesada of Tampa, tried to take the turn from MLK onto the I-75 ramp too quickly for the wet roads, and overturned around 5:20 a.m.
Quesada, 41, was not hurt. He was cited for driving too fast for the conditions.
The DOT told Action News they don't expect the road to be cleaned up and reopened until later this afternoon, so drivers should plan on an alternate route for now.
