    PANAMA CITY
Fire crews worked for more than two hours to contain a fire at Tires ‘R’ Us store on West 15 th Street early Monday morning.

According to the Panama City Fire Department, flames were coming through the roof of the building on two sides, and the building was engulfed in smoke.

The fire was reported about 12:30 a.m. and was under control by 3 a.m.

Firefighters were hindered by metal overhead doors and a large amount of combustible material stored inside the building, the fire department reported.

The fire was labeled as "suspicious," and is under investigation by the Panama City Police Department and Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Damage to the building was estimated at 50 percent.
