    Authorities investigating house fire

PAINTERS HILL -- Firefighters from the Flagler Beach, Palm Coast and Flagler County departments on Monday put down an accidental fire that caused an estimated $110,000 worth of damage in a three-story home on North Oceanshore Boulevard.

Investigators with the State Fire Marshal's office were investigating cause of the fire, which erupted just before 5 p.m. on the second floor in the house's southeast corner, Flagler Beach firefighter Shane Wood said.

The fire extended to the third floor and roof through the wall and to the first floor through the ceiling, according to a Flagler Beach Fire Department report.

Firefighters used hose lines hooked up to water carried in a tanker to put out the fire, which was under control within about 35 minutes and completely extinguished in just over an hour and a half, according to the report.

The house, which officials said was less than two years old, had a working smoke detector that was triggered by the fire.
