Night Fire Damages Triplex Apartment
A fire damaged an apartment in an East Lakeland triplex Monday night, a Polk County fire lieutenant said.
No one was injured.
The fire started about 7 p.m. at 1534 Peavy Court inside the side apartment at the triplex, said Polk County Fire Lt. Jeremiah Gilley.
A room was destroyed before firefighters extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes, Gilley said.
Damage to the apartment was reported at $30,000, Gilley said.
The other two apartments were undamaged, Gilley said.
