Osage Township responded to an Recreational Vehicle Fire at a residence North - East of Big Hill lake on Tuesday July 22, 2003. Property owners stated they had just hooked the RV to a 110V Shore line and began to do yard work. They noticed heavy smoke coming from the rear of the unit minutes later. OTFD responded a Squad which made the initial attack and then an Engine which made secondary attack with the help of a support tanker. The RV was considered a total loss with a dollar amount of over $100,000.00 While on scene one firefighter received a minor neck injury while boarding a truck. The firefighter was treated at Labette County Medical Center then released.
