As storms pelted the Tampa area Sunday night lightning struck the Hidden River Apartments. The strike caused a fire that did $50,000 to the building and displaced 3 families. Fire Officials were back on the scene Monday, citing the Property Management for Fire Code violations that included, missing smoke detectors and defective smoke detectors. All residents interviewed on local T.V indicated they had no warning of the fire until they smelled smoke due to the above conditions.
There were no reported injuries and Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control.
