  • Tacoma Fire Testing

I received my official letter from Tacoma fire department stating that they will not be hiring in 2009. Does anyone know if the results from 2008 testing cycle will carry over or start all over? Hopefully Tacoma fire will have a recruit class in March of 2010. Good luck to you all!

    2008 testing cycle

I heard from a friend of mine on Tacoma Fire Department that it looks like they will be extending the list that started with a written exam in 2008. He also informed me that all candidates that had PAT's in late 2009 will more than likely have to retake them. However, your band # assigned to you last year will remain in effect.

Chawk12 that is great news for all of us that tested in 2008 and will keep our ranking! The PAT should be administered in September 2009 based on prior history but anything is subject to change.

        Band #

Do you think that once we reach the oral board its an all even playing field or will the band number still hold some weight? This potentially will be my first oral board (if selected) for city of Tacoma so not exactly familiar with the complete testing process. Thanks and good luck!

          Oral Board

In all honesty I would guess that it is all even once you get the oral board. It's was nice to see you are still out there. Hope your back from the gulf by now, but if your not, be safe. Who knows, maybe we will get times close to one another for the PAT. I feel like I've known you forever lol

              PAT & Oral Boards

Do you think the PAT will take place in September again or is there a small possibility that the top 60 guys or so will just move on to the oral board? Hopefully this info will be passed on to us soon.

Couldn't find you on Facebook Pip...

Send me a request if you'd like: Alex Plain.

I haven't heard anything from my sources, but I'll keep an ear to the ground.

                  Tacoma Hiring

I was told that Tacoma fire will not have a recruit class until 2011. I sure hope that is wrong!

                    Tacoma Fire

I haven't heard anything else about the process. I'll check with my friend and see if he has heard anything. Where did you hear that they weren't hiring until 2011?

                      Tacoma Info

I was told from a Tacoma firefighter while doing my CPAT for public safety testing. He said the next class will be in 2011 and it will be a large class.

Yikes! 2011?! I just posted a question in another TFD thread before looking here. That stinks if it's true. Oh well, here's to hoping it's just another unfounded fire rumor. All I have heard is that the freeze continues. I'll post more as soon as I hear anything new. Take care.
