  • Drugs in the past.

My question is about drug use in the past....

I smoked marijuana when I was fourteen years old.

I was caught by the police and taken to the police station.

They told me it would not go on record, and nothing of mine was taken, no picture, fingerprints, nothing.

That was the first, and last time I ever did a drug.

When I enlisted in the marine corps, they gave me no problems.

My question is, should I tell the interview people about that?

Sorry, man. I have no experience or knowledge in stuff like this, so I wouldn't want to take a guess - I'd almost certainly be wrong.

My only suggestion would be to try posting your question in a part of the forums that gets more traffic, like the hiring/employment thread, or even the main firefighter thread.

      Good luck,
The opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful. Needless to say, they are not the opinions of the government that I work for.

You could do a search, the topic has been discussed here before.

I'm not in the fire service, but if I remember correctly from previous discussions, most of the FH.com members recommend answering honestly if asked, but don't offer it if not asked.

I may be wrong though, so do more more research.
