  • 12/07/06 - Bronx - 2nd Alarm

This job was about 200 yards from my house last night. I didn't even have to get in the car. It went to a 2nd Alarm on arrival due to the proximity of the exposures. The first line was severely delayed due to water problems. In addition, a power line dropped across Ladder 39's rig, rendering it useless upon arrival.

    Here is the information:

    Date: 12/07/06
    Time: 02:00 hours
    Box #: 3950
    Address: 265 E 234th Street X Katonah Ave
Building: 2 Story Brick PD 20x50
    Fire Location: 2nd Floor

Photos can be found below and several more are located at:

    That's it for now

      Do me a favor:

First, log in as a registered member, type your name out and sign your gutless posts like a man. It will help me out when I see my photos illegally used so I know who to talk to for copyright infringement. If not, I'll just get your IP from the webteam and go that route.

Logging in and signing your name will also serve two additional purposes:
      1) It will show EVERYONE your name and everyone will know how much of a "BROTHER" you really are.
      2) It will out yourself as a ball-bag so your name can be known throughout the fire service!

Grow a couple inches onto your alligator arms (short arms, if you didn't get that) so you can reach your pockets for a couple of bucks if you want a photo.

I love guys like this! He's probably the same type that is showing his badge at the coffee shop so he can get 50 cents off his cup of coffee on a "firefighter discount".

If your morals as a man and a firefighter allow you to "clean" an image and call it your own, so be it. You have to live with that, not me!

      What a bargain!
You just sold credibilty, morals, loyalty and personality all for $2! Strive on brother, soon you will reach the stars!

      Long live the brotherhood! LOL

Also, I have registered, but Im not sure what the deal with this site is because I guess I still come up as a guest?

I wouldn't need to illegally use your photos for anything, I would just find some other photo online, Im sure there is a few on google.

Reguardless, in all seriousness, I was kidding, so, take it easy man.

          Every one ok?

NDeMarse, did any one get zapped from 39 Ladder?
From your pictures, once they got inside it looks like they make short work of it. Tough to tell how quickly they got knock down since there is no time references.
How was the weather there in the big city? Upstate here it was in the low 20's with a cold northerly wind. Not a good night to be spraying water any where.

NDeMarse, nice pictures. Cruisin the forums and noticed you are from the Bronx. My wife got me the book "The Last Men Out" by Tom Downey for Christmas and it's incredible. I'm just amazed at the stories and lives of the guys from Rescue 2. I have all the respect in the world for the men and women of the FDNY but now it's probably greater because of this book. Coming from a small-town rural FD, this book gave me the chance to live the excitement of fire after fire and sorrow after the loss of a brother.

Told my wife I'm at work. Told my boss I'm sick. I'm really at the fire station.

Which small town in Illinois? I grew up in Dwight, IL and also started the fire service there.

              Thanks for the compliments!

Nate, you grew up quite a bit north of me. I hail from Sandoval. Small town just north of Centralia located at the intersection of Rts. 50 & 51.

                Take care,

LOL, yeah, I solely invented the Fire Service for Dwight, IL. lol

I will clarify. I began my career as a volunteer in Dwight, IL.
