  • extrication schools

I'm looking for a good extrication class in Michigan. Something more than basic training. I'm an Engineer on a heavy rescue rig & I would like to broaden my knowledge.

Not sure if you are looking at heavy rescue or just tips and tricks. I am not sure when Chrysler has there class but I believe it is in the fall. They have a class at there proving grounds in the Chelsea/Dexter area.

I think my contact retired from there at least I have not heard from himin a while. I will see if I can find him and see if they are haveing a class agian. I have never been to one cause I am usually working when they have them but from what I understand they cut up about 100 differant cars in a couple days. At least that is the rumor that I hear.

If you know anyone at Chrysler or anyone down around that area I am sure it is passed on to the departments around that area. They may be of assistance.

    Good Luck

      Extrication school

A great person to contact would be Carl Hein from the Ann Arbor Fire Department he is a invaluable tool for extrication. He is the lead instructor for the LCC extrication course and teaches many specalized extrication courses in Michigan.

I was in luck. The class I told you about has been rescheduled for October 25th and 26th at the Chrysler proving grounds. It is sponsered by the Washtenaw Area Mutual Aid Association.

It was rescheduled because Chrysler removed 30 of the vehicles the class was going to use.

        Their website is http://www.wamaa.com

They also have a e-mail address attached to the flyer of [email protected]

You can e-mail them for info mand class availability or possibly go to the website I have not looked at that yet.

        Hope this helps
