(Cedar Falls, Iowa-AP) -- The City of Cedar Falls, Iowa has
hired an Illinois man as its new fire chief.
The City Council has hired 39-year-old Steve Mitchell of Tolono,
Illinois to replace Art Lupkes, who will step down later this
month.
Mitchell has served as the fire prevention and education
officer, shift commander and battalion chief with the Urbana,
Illinois Fire Department.
Lupkes has been fire chief in Cedar Falls since 1993.
