  • the MOVE!

Well, it is monday and we got everything moved over the weekend. We were to close today but it got moved up to this past friday. Sat was a busy day and we did not let the rain stop us! We are still working on getting everything unpacked and situated but it is coming together nicely. Just thought I would update everyone. Take care.

You should do well in the IOWA forums then.
        What; Illinois taxes too high?
        Got something against the governor?
        Better strip joints?
        How could you?

last couple days have been busy in the local IA area, here is an incident that happened yesterday. Thursday evening Bettendorf had a mobile home fire also. See things do happen in IOWA

A masonry worker died Friday morning after falling from the roof of Sudlow Intermediate School, Davenport.

Alan R. Willits, 51, of Bettendorf, died Friday at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport.

The incident happened about 10:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Davenport School District.

The construction crew was doing tuck-pointing work when the worker apparently fell from the roof, the district reported. The company for whom the man worked could not be reached for comment.

A teacher in an empty classroom witnessed the man fall and other faculty were filling in for her classes Friday.

“It is not known if any students or any other employees of the district directly observed the accident,” school district spokesman Karen Farley said.

The district implemented its crisis response resources in terms of trained counselors for staff or students, she said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out the family, friends and co-workers of the individual,” she said.

Students were kept inside the building while police and representatives from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, investigated. The school gave students a brief statement about the incident to take home for parents Friday.

Read about it in today's paper.
Investigators are already looking at the fall protection angle.
Sorry the teacher had to see it.
                  Iowa is an OSHA state.
