    Les:
Glad you had a great time in Galesburg. They take a lot of pride in how the grounds look, that we have enough support staff so that things run smoothly and that everyone goes home unhurt.
Hope you made your thoughts known on the CEQ at the end of the day. They read every one of them and take them seriously. If there is room for improvement, they will make them.
I have those pictures coming to you. Actually, it is a CD.
    Enjoy them with my compliments.

                Some images captured on film.

Here are some photos from Summer Fire School at Galesburg. Maybe you'll see someone that you recognize.
                Enjoy the slide show:
This is John Tucker from Alexis Fire Equipment teaching the pump operator's class.

Here is mfd striking a familiar pose. He along with his Monmouth Fire Department compatriot, Brian Moreland taught the extrication class, who one participant criticized as being "too loud".

The Saving Our Own group. Brad Stevenson, Dan Wolf and others from Galesburg Fire Department did their usual excellent job instructing this evolution.

Here is my good friend, State Rep Don Moffitt being interviewed by Channel 4 news out of Rock Island. The young reporter was Australian and her Grandpa is a firefighter in Australia.

Here is the smoke building. Galesburg FD has just received a grant that will upgrade this building and greatly enhance the many activities that currently take place there. A blueprint of the project was shown the day of fire school. When the mental hospital was there, this was actually the old incineration building; at least, that is what I am told.

Here we see 80FIRE engaged in a spirited discussion in Roger Lunt's incident management class. Believe it or not, this class was full. I think that speaks to the changing attitudes in the fire service and the importance placed on proper management of the incidents that we face. Roger always gets high marks for his classes.

Ah, yes; Kelly Cavanaugh. Kelly was teaching the Technical Rescue Awareness class. For the first time, the state test was offered immediately after the class for those who wanted to take it. Kelly was armed with a .45 caliber squirt gun for anyone who even thought about napping in his class.
