Jasper FD contributes to MDA
Firefighters raise $1,200 to fight Muscular Dystrophy

JASPER - Jasper Firefighters participated in a fund-raiser called "Fill-the-Boot" Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2003 to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Firefighters were at intersections in Jasper with their boots so that motorists could give their dollars and change to help in their support of MDA.
"The Jasper Firefighters would like to thank the citizens of Hamilton County that graciously donated to the annual MDA Boot Drive on Labor Day," said Jasper Fire Rescue Chief Bill Trinder. "All the money donated will go to the local chapter (Jacksonville) to help those in our area that suffer with Muscular Dystrophy.
"The Jasper Firefighters with the help of the Jasper Church of God, and the "Powered by Him" youth group, were able to raise $1,200 during the Boot Drive. I'd like to specially thank "Powered by Him" for their support in this year's drive."
MDA helps children and adults affected by more than 40 neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA's comprehensive medical services and research programs. MDA receives no government funding and charges no fees to those served by the Association
