PLANT CITY - Firefighter Steve Givens has seen his share of youngsters injured in traffic accidents in his five years with Plant City Fire Rescue.
The accidents that trouble him most are ones in which a child has been injured because a parent did not have the child properly restrained in the vehicle.
Such injuries don't have to happen.
Givens received training to make sure car seats are properly installed in vehicles transporting children.
Givens gives free demonstrations and inspections of car seats at the Plant City Fire Rescue station at 604 E. Alexander St.
