I haven’t heard anything since the psych in July. Is there going to be another uncert next year ? I keep hearing from people that they are going to be doing a new list again soon

I’ve been lucky enough to hear back from backgrounds and I know my references and neighbors were contacted as well. Don’t really think it’s a given that I was selected but it sure does keep my hope up. I guess we’ll find out in two weeks or less. Best of luck to all.

By any chance are you an EMT-B or EMT-P?

            • Hello everyone,

I am currently a EMT-B/FF but applied in June of last year as an EMT-B only. When asked to update my certs early this year I was in the middle of the academy and did not get my cert well after the deadline to be seen as a cert applicant. I took my psych eval early August and just now I was contacted by my background investigator to meet later this week and that she would be contacting my neighbours/references/employers as well. I am happy that I was contacted so soon since I have been waiting for only two months while others have been waiting much longer. I'm hoping for the best, I will update you all after I complete my interview.

              • Ok, here’s the latest on our side. My son received his (non cert) offer earlier today. I wanted to make sure that I posted this quickly just as I would have appreciated it if someone had gotten this great news at some point as well. I didn’t want to forget to post & leave others hanging. Well, we (he) got it! From start to finish, it’s been close to a year the entire process. I’m sure some of you may have additional questions, so please feel free to message me and I’ll do my best to respond quickly. We feel very honored and blessed to be in this position of finally becoming a Miami Dade County firefighter. Good luck to all others!

                • Miamidad congrats to your son and you as well! I hope to see others update us with good news soon. I only hope to be so lucky whenever the next non-cert class is. Let me know if you hear anything in the future.

                  • Miamidad congrats to your son! For anyone to answer, do offers all go out at once or do they come at different times?

Also, should we be on the lookout for an email or physical letter?

                        • Anyone know if all letters go out at the same time?

                          • fire1991 I would assume so if they already have tentative dates for fingerprinting and medical as well as scheduling psych 2 already.

                            • For those wanting to know how things are done or at least by first hand experience this time around, you get your conditional offer via email first. VERY IMPORTANT: Keep an eye out on your spam folder! Upon responding to the email confirming that you are still interested in this position, they call you (no email) to set up for the pre-employment psych 2 screening. It's roughly about a week later depending on how quickly you respond cause it's based on first come, first served. After that, I don't know cause we are not there yet. I'll post it once I get any other updates. Again, don't lose hope cause however hard it may be to believe, there may be some applicants that drop out due to them moving away, health issues, or other unforeseen circumstances. Again, I don't know that for sure, but it would make sense to me. Unless they extended these offers to a few more than what's really needed knowing that they would lose a few here or there. Hope this is helpful for some of you.

                              • To follow up on my last posting, my son got a call (not email) today for the scheduling now of his finger printing and a medical exam. Two days apart starting Nov 4th. Hope this is helpful for those who were asking me via direct messaging. Haven't heard anything on the start of the next non-cert class. Once I do, I'll let everyone know.
