Does anyone have any information on the New Haven fire department? I’m curious how busy they are, and if they do allot of fires. Any info would help.

Lots of BLS EMS for the engine crews. They run two ALS ambulances to supplement AMR as needed.
As far as fires, nothing unusually crazy.Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers. -

From my understanding they are one of busiest departments in the state. They are looking to hire 10 this year then over the next 3 years 20 more each year!Comment

I don't believe they will be using the CPAT, I think they use their own physical agility test.Comment

Ladder Climb 24 foot
50lb weight vest for :
Stair Climb - Six flights about ninty steps while carrying a hose pack weighing 45 lb.
Equipment Carry - 100 ft weigt of 20+ lb
Hydrant Open + Close - Self explanatory
Victim Drag - 165lb manikin 50ft

test is a joke, plain and simple, they hire who they think they need to make it a more diverse deptartment, like mentioned above take it for experience but dont hold out like i said the city and the vulcan society and the firebirds want certain people to get hired so its a wash, im taking the test for experience thats it.Comment
