    I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS YOUR RESPONCE TO A FIRST ALARM (OR WHAT EVER YOU CALL IT IN YOUR AREA)
    3-ENGINES
    1-TOWER LADDER
    1- SECTOR CAPTAIN
    FOR A FIRST ALARM WHERE I WORK
    WITH A TOTAL OF 14 PERSONNEL (IF NO ONE TAKES LEAVE)

      1-RESCUE
      1-UTILITY
      1-COMMAND
      SECOND ALARMS
      ADDITIONAL
      1-ENGINE
      1-LADDER FROM NEXT DOOR(COMES WITH ITS OWN SUPPORT ENGINE)

      WE MIGHT ASK FOR A TENDER INSTEAD OF THE SECOND ENGINE IN AREAS WERE THERE ARE NO PLUGS.

        Our Companies are all manned at 3 Personnel
        Regular Alarm (house)
        2 Engines (usually call a 3rd for working fire
        1 Truck
        1 Rescue
        1 Batt Chief
        Call in safety officer and notify the
        Ops Chief

        General Alarm (commercial or mult. dwelling)
        3 Engines (usually call 4th for working)
        1 Truck
        1 Rescue
        1 BC
        Call in safety officer, notify Ops Chief and Fire Chief

        Inspectors/investigator as needed.
        Additional alarms are mutual aid

          lex. ky gets you:
          3 engines, 4 assigned, 3 minimum staff
          1 ladder, same
          1 als ambulance, 3 always
          1 dist. major, sometimes with an aide.

          so you get at least 16, or up to 21, depending on the day.....

            In the city of Seattle this is generally what responds for a first alarm assignment....

            HOUSE FIRE:

            3 engines
            2 ladder trucks
            2 battalion chiefs
            1 aid unit(bls)
            1 medic unit(als)
            1 safety chief
            1 staffing person
            1 air unit

            COMMERCIAL FIRE:

            5 engines
            2 ladder trucks
            2 battalion chiefs
            1 aid unit(bls)
            1 medic unit(als)
            1 safety chief
            1 staffing person
            1 air rig

              First alarm assignment for a working fire consists of:
              -Three(3) engine companies
              -One(1) ladder company
              -One(1) Battalion Chief
              -One(1) engine company as a Rapid Intervention Crew
              -Mask Service Unit

              20-23 personnel

                Residential fire:
                5 engines (1 M/A)
                1 ladder
                1 rescue (cascade & lights)
                1 equipment truck (soon to be 2)

                Commercial/Apartment fire:
                5-6 engines (1-2 M/A)
                2 ladders (1 M/A)
                1 rescue
                1 equipment truck
                1 trailer mounted PPV fan (commercial only)

                Average response to structure fire is 28 personnel (not counting mutual aid).

                Each additional alarm brings:
                3 engines
                1 ladder
                1 rescue or equipment truck (cascade)
                1 medic unit (ALS)

                  Alpha Fire Co. (Volunteer):
                  2 Engines
                  1 Truck
                  1 Rescue
                  1 Duty Officer (in command vehicle)
                  (Rural area a Tanker)

                  County standard is you cannot leave station without minimum staffing (4 fire fighters not probies) in under 4 minutes. After that you can respond "light".

                    1 chief vehicle (2 chiefs in personal vehicle
                    each engine and ladder generally staffed with 4 FF and usually an officer from each

                      First Alarm Assignment in Fishers consists of:

                      2 Engines - 3 min. staffing
                      1 Truck Co. - 3 min. staffing
                      1 Rescue Co. - 2 min. staffing
                      1 BLS Amb. - 2 min. staffing

                        First Alarm Assignment in Fishers consists of:

                        2 Engine Co. - 3 min. staffing (3 Eng. on Business fire)
                        1 Truck Co. - 3 min. staffing
                        1 Rescue Co. - 2 min. staffing
                        1 BLS Amb. - 2 min. staffing
                        1 Bat. chief

                        If it is a confirmed working fire the bat. will usually order up 1 to 2 additional engine companies bringing the manpower total from 14 to 17 or 20

                          For Monrovia
                          2 Monrovia Engine's
                          1 Mutual Aid Engine from Arcadia
                          1 Monrovia Paramedic Unit
                          1 Monrovia BC

                          Soem days the engine's have 3 somedays we have four
                          So on a 3 day's with two medics on the squad , 3 from the mutual aid engine and 1 BC
                          It would be 12
                          A day when we have four on the engine is 14 people
                          We will soon be able to fully staff our truck adding addtional personel

                            In waco a General Alarm is as follows:

                            House fire:
                            3 Engines (3 personnel each)
                            1 Aerial {either Quint(3) or Truck(3) personnel}
                            1 Rescue(2 [personnel)
                            1 Assistant chief(with aide= 2)

                            Total of 15-16 personnel

                            Commercial,Apartments, Hospitals, Schools..or reported fully involved house fires, get a 4th engine company.

                            Total of 18-19 personnel.

                            2nd Alarms are:
                            2 Engines
                            1 Aerial or Rescue

                              1st alarm assignment is:

                              2 engines, a truck, and a Batt. Chief.

                              If we have enough people to staff the truck, it might roll. (As you can tell from this response, I have issues with our alarms assignments.)
